I am taking on Kidney Care UK's Marathon March

Most of you know me well — and you know that I am in no way, shape, or form a runner. Think less “elite athlete” and more “determined stroller with strong feelings about a celebratory glass of red.” If you ever see me sprinting, assume there’s either a fire… or someone shouting “last orders!”

HOWEVER… this year I’m lacing up (sensible walking shoes, obviously) for the Marathon March in support of Kidney Care UK.

This amazing charity has been there for us throughout Dad’s kidney transplant journey. From practical advice and emotional support to financial grants and advocacy, they make sure that no one has to face kidney disease alone. When you’re navigating hospital appointments, big decisions, and all the ups and downs that come with a transplant, having that kind of support behind you means everything.

So while I won’t be breaking any land speed records, I will be walking 26.2 miles (yes, the full marathon distance!) over the month of March, to help raise funds for the vital services they provide.

Please give what you can, share if you’re happy to, and cheer me on as I power-walk my way to quite a few well-earned glasses of red at the finish line. 🍷

Saturday 28th Mar
Marathon March complete ✅ Proud (and a little relieved!) to have crossed the finish line while raising money for Kidney Care UK. A huge thank you to everyone who donated 🙏 And now… time to celebrate with a very well-deserved glass of red 🍷 (even if I do say so myself!)

Day 16

Monday 16th Mar
Birthday weekend in Norfolk complete 🎉 Back to work tomorrow, but it’s been a lovely few days away. Managed to get another 4 miles in today with a walk around Norwich – a bit of shopping, and a chance to see the castle and the cathedral. 🏰 A perfect mix of exploring, fresh air, and celebrating. Now back to reality tomorrow… but feeling recharged! 😊

Sunday 15th Mar
Another 2 miles done today along the coast. ☀️ A beautiful sunny walk, though the wind definitely made itself known! Stopped by Horsey Bay and was lucky enough to watch the seals resting along the shore — always such a special sight! 🦭

Saturday 14th Mar
Birthday walk in Cromer today 🎂🌊 A lovely stroll along the coast and, of course, a stop for lunch 🐟🍟. Then another three miles done to finish the day off nicely. 🚶‍♂️

Sunday 8th Mar
Cold and windy walk along the wall today getting some proper sea air 🌬️🌊 Made a little stop for breakfast and a much-needed coffee along the way ☕🥓 Another 7 miles done and that officially puts me halfway through the journey! 👣 Thanks so much to everyone supporting and donating — it really does keep me going on days like this. The second half starts now! 💪
